HP EliteBook Price in Bangladesh: G4 to G11 Explained

The HP EliteBook price in Bangladesh for a good used unit starts at about 28,000 taka and goes up to around 65,000 taka, depending mostly on the generation. This guide is for students, office workers and freelancers who want an EliteBook but are confused by names like 840 G7, 845 G8 or 640 G9. You will learn what each part of the name means, how the G4 to G11 generations differ, and what each one costs at Megabuy BD today.

What Is an HP EliteBook?

EliteBook is HP's premium business laptop line. It sits above the ProBook, which is HP's mainstream business range, and next to the ZBook, which is HP's workstation range for engineers and designers. Companies buy EliteBooks in large numbers, use them for a few years, and then replace them. That is why so many good used units reach Bangladesh.

Compared with a home laptop, an EliteBook usually has a metal body, a spill-resistant backlit keyboard, a fingerprint reader and HP's security tools such as Sure Start, which protects the BIOS from tampering. HP also tests EliteBooks against military-standard (MIL-STD 810) durability procedures.

How to Read an EliteBook Model Name

Take the name EliteBook 845 G8 as an example. Each part tells you something:

• First digit (8): the series. 6 is the 600 series (more affordable), 8 is the 800 series (the most common premium range) and 1 is the 1000 series (thin flagship models, often x360 convertibles).
• Second digit (4): the screen size. 3 means 13.3-inch, 4 means 14-inch, 5 means 15.6-inch and 6 means 16-inch.
• Last digit (5): the processor brand. 0 means Intel, 5 means AMD Ryzen.
• G8: the generation. A higher G number means a newer design.

So the 845 G8 is an 800 series, 14-inch, AMD laptop from the eighth generation. The 640 G9 is a 600 series, 14-inch, Intel model from the ninth generation.

EliteBook Generations G4 to G11 Explained

The G number does not match the Intel generation, which confuses many buyers. This table shows the 14-inch 840 and 845 models as a guide; other sizes in the same generation use similar chips.

After G11, HP changed its naming in 2025. The successor to the 840 G11 is called the EliteBook 8 G1i, where "i" means Intel and "a" means AMD. You will see these names more often in the used market from the next few years onward.

Which EliteBook Generation Is the Sweet Spot?

G5 and G6: lowest price

The EliteBook 840 G5 with Core i5 8th Gen is the cheapest entry at 28,400 taka. Its quad-core chip handles Office, browsing and online classes well. G5 and G6 look and perform much the same, so buy whichever is cheaper.

G7: the first big step

The G7 brings 10th Gen Intel and the first AMD 845 model. The EliteBook 845 G7 with Ryzen 5 Pro and 16GB RAM has six cores and twelve threads, which is a clear upgrade for multitasking.

G8: best value for most people

The G8 is where we point most buyers. The 11th Gen Core i5 brings Iris Xe graphics, which are far better than the older UHD graphics for video, photo edits and external monitors. The EliteBook 840 G8 with 16GB and 512GB is a laptop you can use comfortably for many years.

G9 and G10: modern design

From G9, the 840 and 845 gain DDR5 memory and a 16:10 screen. The EliteBook 840 G9 with 12th Gen Core i5 gives this newer design for about 10,000 taka less than a G10.

Intel 840 or AMD 845?

Both share the same body and keyboard. The AMD versions usually give more cores for the same price and stronger built-in graphics in the G9 generation. The Intel versions support Thunderbolt on most models and suit companies whose software or docking stations are set up for Intel. For home, study and freelance use, either is a good choice.

How to Choose an EliteBook by Budget

• Under 35,000 taka: 840 G5 or G6 with Core i5. Good for students and basic office work.
• 35,000 to 45,000 taka: 840 G7 or 845 G7, or the 840 G8 if you can stretch. Aim for 16GB RAM.
• 45,000 to 55,000 taka: 850 G8 for a big screen, 845 G8 or 840 G9 for the newest design.
• Above 55,000 taka: 840 G10, 845 G9 Ryzen 7 or 845 G10 for heavy multitasking and long life.
