About the Dahua DH-AC12 AC1200 Dual Band Gigabit Router

What AC1200 Means

AC1200 is the combined wireless speed of both bands. The 2.4 GHz band gives up to 300 Mbps and the 5 GHz band up to 867 Mbps. Real speed is lower and depends on distance, walls and your internet package.

Two Bands for Different Jobs

The 2.4 GHz band reaches further and passes walls better, which suits phones in far rooms. The 5 GHz band is faster and less crowded, which suits streaming and video calls near the router. Your devices can use the band that works best for them.

Gigabit Wired Ports

Many budget routers still have 100 Mbps ports that limit fast fibre plans. The DH-AC12 uses 10/100/1000 Mbps on its WAN and all three LAN ports. A desktop PC, TV box or game console on cable can use your full line speed.

Design & Performance

Design and Build

The router has a black body with an angled, modern top design. Four tall antennas sit at the back and sides, as the product photos show. Point them in different directions, some upright and some tilted, for better coverage.

All ports sit on the rear panel in one row, with the WAN port marked separately. It runs on a 12V 1A power supply and draws under 12W at full use. That low draw makes it easy to keep running on a small mini UPS during load shedding.

Performance in Daily Use

In a typical flat, the 5 GHz band handles YouTube, Netflix and Zoom smoothly near the router. The 2.4 GHz band keeps phones and smart devices connected in back rooms. For thick concrete walls, place the router in a central, open spot.

If some rooms still feel slow, the cause is often placement or interference, not the router alone. Our guide on what to do when Wi-Fi is slow explains simple fixes. Setup is done through a web page from a phone or computer.

Who It's For

Home Broadband Users

Families with fibre or cable internet will find this a solid upgrade over an old single band router. It handles several phones, a smart TV and a laptop at the same time. Compare it with other picks in our best Wi-Fi router for home guide.

Small Offices and Shops

A small office can connect a desktop, printer and billing PC through the three Gigabit LAN ports. Staff phones and laptops then join the Wi-Fi on either band. It keeps a simple network running without a separate switch for a few devices.

Students and Remote Workers

Online classes and video meetings need a steady connection more than raw speed. The 5 GHz band gives a cleaner signal for calls in the same room. A cable to your study PC removes Wi-Fi drops completely.

Simple Buying Guide

Match Your Internet Package

An AC1200 router fits most home packages sold in Bangladesh today. If your line is above 500 Mbps and you have many users, consider a Wi-Fi 6 model. For normal family use, AC1200 with Gigabit ports is a sensible balance.

Know Your ONU Type

Fibre providers install an ONU that turns the light signal into Ethernet. This router connects to that ONU through its WAN port. Read our GPON, EPON and XPON ONU guide to understand your line.

Plan for Power Cuts

Wi-Fi stops the moment the router loses power, even if the line is fine. A small DC mini UPS can keep both the ONU and router running. Our mini UPS buying guide shows what to look for.

Easy Steps to Check Before You Order

First, confirm that your internet line ends in an ONU or modem with an Ethernet port for the WAN cable.

Next, count your wired devices, such as a desktop, TV box or printer, and make sure three Gigabit LAN ports will be enough.

Then, choose a central, open place for the router, away from metal cupboards, fridges and thick walls.

Last, check the latest price and stock on this page, and keep your internet account user name and password ready.

What's in the Box

The box contents are not confirmed by our source. The router runs on a 12V 1A supply. Please check with our team what comes in the box before ordering.
