About the NEC LCD-L220W

NEC's Simple Full HD Office Screen

The L220W was part of NEC's standard business range in Japan. It was sold in white and in black, and this listing is the black LCD-L220W-BK. NEC has now ended production of the model, so used units are the main way to buy one.

Clear Text at Full HD

With 1920 x 1080 pixels on 21.5 inches, the pixel pitch is a fine 0.248mm. Letters in Word, Excel and web pages look crisp. You also get about 16.77 million display colours.

Two Inputs, No Extras

The back panel has one DVI-D input and one mini D-Sub 15-pin VGA input. There is no HDMI port and no built-in speaker. Keeping the feature list short helped NEC make a reliable, low-cost office monitor.

Design & Performance

Design and Build

The source lists the size at about 507 x 365 x 205mm. A round base keeps the black body steady on a desk. The stand allows tilt, so you can angle the screen to your eye level.

The front bezel carries NEC and L220W badges with small buttons on the lower right. Our photos are product images, and your used unit may have small marks. Ask our team for a clear description before you pay.

Performance in Daily Use

NEC rates the screen at 250 cd/m² maximum brightness. The source lists a 1000:1 contrast ratio, a 5ms response time and a 60Hz refresh. That handles documents, browsing and video calls smoothly.

Viewing angles are 170 degrees side to side and 160 degrees up and down. That is normal for a TN panel and fine for one person at a desk. Power use is listed at just 13W at factory settings.

Who It's For

Office Desktops With DVI

Many business towers and older graphics cards have a DVI port. DVI-D gives a sharp digital Full HD picture without needing any adapter. Add a new keyboard and the old desk feels fresh again.

CCTV and Security Rooms

Security staff often watch camera feeds all day and night. A Full HD screen shows more camera tiles clearly at the same time. The low 13W draw keeps running costs down when it stays on for long shifts.

Laptop Users With an Adapter

Modern laptops usually have an HDMI port instead of VGA or DVI. A small converter lets them use this monitor as a much larger work screen. The Baseus HDMI to VGA adapter is one simple choice.

Simple Buying Guide

Check Your Video Output First

Look for a white DVI port or a blue VGA port on your computer. If you only see HDMI, you need an adapter or cable. Plan this before the monitor arrives.

No Speakers on This Model

The L220W has no built-in speakers. Use PC speakers or headphones for calls and videos. This also keeps the monitor slim and simple.

Ask About Power

Japanese monitors sometimes arrive with a Japanese plug or no cord at all. Ask our team how this unit is powered and which cord is supplied. Never force a plug that does not fit your socket.
