About the Nokia 106

A 105 With Extra Media Features

The Nokia 106 (2023) shares its body, screen and battery with the Nokia 105 (2023). The difference is the microSD slot, which supports cards up to 32GB. That card unlocks the MP3 player and voice recorder.

Music and Radio

HMD lists a dual-mode FM radio that works wired or wireless. You can play radio aloud from the speaker or use earphones with the 3.5mm jack. For better sound, try a pair from our wired earphone range.

Series 30+ Software

The phone runs Series 30+, a light system for keypad phones. It covers calls, SMS, contacts, alarm, calculator and simple games. It does not run Android apps, so see our button phone collection for other simple models.

Design & Performance

Design and Build

The Nokia 106 measures about 115.1 x 49.4 x 14.5 mm and weighs 79.4 grams. Its rounded edges and textured back make it easy to grip with one hand. HMD rates it IP52 for protection against splashes and dust.

HMD sells it in Charcoal, Emerald Green and Red Terracotta. A small LED torch sits on top for dark rooms and load-shedding nights. The keypad uses separate raised keys that are easy to feel.

Performance in Daily Use

The simple software opens the phone book and call log without delay. Battery life is the main strength of a phone like this. HMD rates it for up to 12 hours of talk time and 22 days of standby.

Playing music or radio for long hours will use more battery than standby. Charging is through a micro USB 1.1 port, which is common and cheap to replace. A full charge takes longer than on a smartphone fast charger.

Who It's For

Music and Radio Lovers

Some people want songs and radio without the cost of a smartphone. The 106 plays MP3 files from a card and receives FM stations. That makes it a cheap pocket music player that also makes calls.

Students Who Record Notes

The voice recorder can save short lectures or reminders to a memory card. Students who cannot use smartphones at school may find this useful. The phone is small enough to keep in a school bag pocket.

People Who Want a Spare Phone

A spare phone with long standby is helpful during travel or emergencies. You can keep a second SIM in it and charge it only once a week or so. Compare more low-cost models such as the GDL G21 feature phone.

Simple Buying Guide

Do You Need a Memory Card?

Without a card, the MP3 player and voice recorder cannot be used. A small card of 8GB or 16GB is plenty for songs and notes. The phone supports cards up to 32GB, so avoid larger cards.

Compare With the 4G Edition

The Nokia 106 4G costs more but adds 4G, Bluetooth and a larger battery. The 2G model is fine if your area has good 2G coverage. Choose the 4G edition if you want VoLTE where your operator offers it.

Check the SIM Version

This phone uses mini SIM cards. Some units are single SIM, while others take two SIMs. Ask our team which version is in stock before ordering.

Easy Steps to Check Before You Order

First, decide whether you need music and recording, or only calls. If calls and radio are enough, the cheaper Nokia 105 may suit you better.

Next, plan a microSD card of 32GB or less for songs. The card is sold separately, so add one to your plan.

Then, pick Charcoal, Emerald Green or Red Terracotta. Ask our team which colours are available today.

Last, confirm the box, IMEI and SIM version with our team before payment. This avoids surprises at delivery time.

What's in the Box

HMD lists a micro USB charger and a user guide in the retail box. A memory card is not included. Imported stock may differ, so please confirm the contents with our team.

When the parcel arrives, check the phone for scratches or cracks. Test a call, the radio and charging. Keep the box safe for a few days.

Warranty

This Nokia 106 is a genuine HMD-made phone sold as an unofficial import. It does not include a brand warranty from a Bangladesh distributor. Please check the box and IMEI with our team before you order.
