About the Honor Magic V5

Book-Style Foldable Design

Closed, the Magic V5 works like a normal phone with its 6.43-inch cover display. Open it, and you get a near-square 7.95-inch screen for reading and split-screen apps. Both panels are LTPO OLED with 120Hz refresh and 5000 nits peak brightness.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Inside

The Snapdragon 8 Elite chip runs two cores at 4.32GHz and six at 3.53GHz. With 16GB RAM, several apps can run side by side on the big screen. The 512GB storage gives room for documents, games and 4K video.

Stylus and Desktop Mode

The phone supports a stylus for notes and sketches, sold separately. USB Type-C 3.1 with DisplayPort allows a desktop mode on an external monitor. Compare it with regular flagships in our smartphone collection.

Design & Performance

Design and Build

Folded, the Magic V5 measures 156.8 x 74.3 x 8.8 to 9.0 mm, depending on the colour. Unfolded, it is only about 4.1 to 4.2 mm thick. It weighs about 217 to 222 grams, close to many regular flagship phones.

The phone carries IP58 and IP59 ratings. It is protected against dust and can handle water jets and immersion up to 1 metre for 30 minutes. Like every foldable, it should be kept away from sand and grit near the hinge.

Performance in Daily Use

Switching from the cover screen to the inner screen feels natural, and apps continue where you left off. Split-screen lets you read email while checking a chat. The big inner screen is great for maps, spreadsheets and films.

The international version has a 5820mAh silicon-carbon battery. It supports 66W wired and 50W wireless charging. The side-mounted fingerprint sensor sits in the power button for quick unlocking.

Who It's For

Business Professionals

Reading documents and editing slides is easier on a 7.95-inch screen. Two apps can sit side by side for faster work. Dual SIM support keeps office and personal numbers on one device, so you can carry a single phone.

Readers and Movie Lovers

The inner screen is close to the size of a small tablet. E-books, comics and news pages look much larger than on a regular phone. Stereo speakers add full, clear sound to films, cricket highlights and drama series.

Photography Fans

The 50MP main camera has optical stabilisation and a bright f/1.6 lens. A 64MP periscope camera gives 3x optical zoom for portraits and distant scenes. With a smartphone gimbal, you can shoot smooth 4K video.

Simple Buying Guide

Magic V5 vs Magic V6

The newer Magic V6 has the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a larger 6660mAh battery and IP68 and IP69 protection. The Magic V5 costs less and still offers a flagship chip. Choose the V5 if you want a foldable at a lower price.

Foldable Care Tips

Do not remove the factory screen protector on the inner display. Keep the hinge clean and avoid pressing hard on the fold. A case helps protect the frame from drops.

Charging Accessories

The 66W wired speed needs a compatible Honor SuperCharge adapter. A spare fast charger is handy at the office. Wireless charging needs a separate compatible pad.
