About the HP EliteBook 840 G5 i7 8th Gen

Why Choose the i7 Over the i5

The Core i7 sits one level above the Core i5 in the same 8th Gen family. It usually holds higher boost speeds when work gets heavy. You notice it most with large Excel sheets, many browser tabs and long reports.

Same Trusted 840 G5 Body

The i7 model shares the slim 14-inch EliteBook 840 G5 design. It is a silver business laptop made for office work and travel. Being pre-owned, it gives you this business series at a lower price than a new laptop.

A Practical Memory and Storage Setup

This unit has 8GB DDR4 RAM at 2400 MHz and a 256GB M.2 NVMe SSD. It is a good base for Windows, office apps and browsing. Keep big media files on an external drive or cloud storage.

Design & Performance

Design and Build

The 840 G5 starts at around 1.48 kg, or 3.26 lb, so daily carrying is easy. Its silver finish looks clean and professional in meetings. The 14-inch size fits most office bags and backpacks.

The keyboard is backlit, which helps when you type in low light or during load shedding. The HD IR camera sits above the screen for video calls. Bluetooth lets you connect a wireless mouse, headset or speaker without cables.

Performance in Daily Use

The 8th Gen Core i7-8650U with Intel UHD Graphics 620 handles office suites, accounting software and web apps well. Video meetings, streaming and light photo edits also run comfortably. Heavy gaming and 3D rendering are not what this laptop is built for.

The NVMe SSD makes a big difference in daily feel. The laptop wakes, boots and loads programs much faster than with an old hard disk. Large file copies and software updates also finish sooner.

Who It's For

Accountants and Data Workers

People who work with large spreadsheets and accounting software need steady processor power. The Core i7 gives a little more room for these jobs than the i5. It is a sensible pick for daily office and data work in Bangladesh.

Freelancers Working From Home

Freelancers often keep a browser, a chat app and a design or writing tool open together. The i7 and NVMe SSD keep switching between them quick. You can browse more options in our used laptop collection as well.

Managers Who Travel

Managers moving between branches need a light laptop that looks professional. The 840 G5 is slim, silver and easy to carry. The backlit keyboard helps when working late or on the road.

Simple Buying Guide

Decide If You Need i7 Power

For basic browsing and documents, a Core i5 is often enough. Choose the i7 if you run heavier files or many apps at once. Match the processor to your real daily work.

Check Battery and Charger

On a used laptop, battery life depends on how the battery was used before. Ask our team about the battery health and the charger before ordering. A good charger keeps the laptop safe and running well.

Look at Newer Generations Too

Newer models like the 10th Gen 840 G7 cost more but add newer features. Compare them before you decide. See the HP EliteBook 840 G7 i5 10th Gen for a newer option.
